 The 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe was a stylish and powerful car that was popular with American consumers. It was one of the first cars to feature dual headlights and a low, sleek design. The Impala was also available with a variety of powerful engines, including a 348 cubic inch V8 that produced 280 horsepower.

The Impala Sport Coupe was available in a variety of colors, including black, white, red, and blue. It had a long, sleek body with a large grille, chrome bumpers, and tail fins. The interior was upholstered in leather and featured a padded dashboard, a center console, and a radio.

    1/87 Oxford Diecast 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe Cay Coral

    This was a replacement for a similar model that had a defective front end. Sent picture of the defect and the company sent me a replacement. Nice, realistic model of the 1958 Impala. Looking forward to the release of the all red version.

    I would not call it experience, I purchased it and several others to bring greater realism to my post war -- 2-1-1968 period model train layout.

    Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe 1958

    Good model, and worthwhile addition to Oxford’s mid-century American models. Numberplate is nice touch that other manufacturers don’t offer. Plastic inserts for lights could be considered. Otherwise I look forward to adding to my Oxford 1/87 collection. interesting to see the change in fin size between 1958 and 1959!

    What happened to the fender skirts?

    The '58 Impala is one of the quintessential American cars in my books alongside with the Hudson Hornet. The car cemented itself in pop culture (American Graffiti) and is always a joy to view in person. You can imagine how happy I am to own this little gem. Oxford's mold for this model is superb with one nuance that I'll speak to below. Many manufacturers tried to replicate this car's shape, often erring by making the windshield too bulbous or missing on other marks (see M2's attempts in 1/64, NEO in 1/43). The reviewer below pointed out to the B pillar - while an omission, I think it can be remedied with a chrome marker, luckily Oxford uses screws for easy disassembly. On my end, I am more curious what went into Oxford's decision to drop the rear fender skirts seen on the images above. In my view, the skirts really add to the 'low and slow' land yacht vibe of the vehicle and work great on pastel colors such as this cay coral and the upcoming yellow version. I note that the render of upcoming Impala in red lacks the skirts. Ideally, it would be great to own a model with and without the skirts.

    Oxford Rocks!

    The model is priced very reasonably. It is excellent detailed and very desirable. I have EVERY 1/87 scale Oxford made so far.
