The 1930's
Production of vehicles increased in the UK during the 1930's with Britain becoming the largest European exporter. Lord Nuffield controlled the following marques - Morris, MG, Wolseley and Riley - with over a quarter of all the production coming from this group. The Rootes group included Humber and Sunbeam. The end of the decade saw the outbreak of war - dramatic changes occurred, no longer were the factories producing standard cars, instead they were switched across to the manufacture of military vehicles
